Residents protest against destruction of park

Residents at the Fusha e Aviacionit have reacted harshly to the decision
of a local businessman who has installed some equipments for a
playground for children, with cars and a merry-go-round at the promenade
of this area.

“This is for the celebrations of this year and we have a permit. Nothing was placed today, but we will bring them in the following days. You can go to the municipality if you want”, the businessman has declared, according to the residents.

The residents say that this promenade is being destroyed day after day, because the trees have been cut and the green spaces are being occupied.

“They have cut trees. We don’t want this playground because it ruins the green space. We don’t have green spaces here”, one of the residents declared.

Together with the residents protested the Socialist MP, Vasilika Hysi, and the head of Municipal Unit 7, wyho said that he has submitted the citizens’ requests at the Tirana Municipality for the destruction of the park, but there has been no response.

“Two private businesses opened within two months, without any permit, and they have destroyed the green space. We are not against businesses, but we want to have the according the rules. We appeal Mr. Basha to stop the destruction of the green spaces that belong to the citizens”, Hysi declared.

The residents say that five million EUR have been spent for the park and it cannot be destroyed.
