Residents in conflict for illegal construction

The illegal construction that spurred during the electoral campaign have
continued without any damage by the Construction Inspectorate of the
Tirana Municipality.
While the Municipality employees are now focused on Lulzim Basha’s campaign for the leadership of the Democratic Party, other constructions are being raised quickly around Tirana.
Besides violating the law, these constructions are causing conflicts between the residents.
Some residents say that they have never found the support of the Municipality and the Construction Police, although they have reported dozens of cases.
“Two stories were built in one week, and we don’t know if the apartment building will hold in case of an earthquake”, another resident says.
Besides having their common spaces threatened, these residents live in stress and pressure due to the threats.
“This person is blocking the water, the electricity and the elevator for his construction, any time he wants. We don’t know how to behave with him”, a resident says.
Those who build illegally do not hesitate to publicly accept this fact.
