The Prosecution General decided that the competency for pursuing the
charges filed against the leader of the High Inspectorate of Declaration
and Audit of Assets by 34 staff members belong to the Tirana
Prosecution.
Sources for Top Channel declared that the report, in which the staff has reported 12 violations of the Inspector General, Zana Xhuka, is considered to be in the preliminary phase and it is still too early to say if they will take the HIDAA leader under investigation or not.
When asked by Top Channel to which sector this file had been trusted to, the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General, Albi Serani, declared that he cannot comment any criminal report that will be is filed in the Prosecution.
The report against Zana Xhuka was an unprecedented case in the Albanian institutions, when the staff disagrees with the leader and makes a report to the investigation institutions. According to the 34 staff members, Xhuka refuses to inspect 1200 declarations from one year ago and that are outside the legal deadlines. The inspectors also say that the inspection of 4% of the files should have started since April. They say in the report that there has been no answer about what should be done with the 190 files selected by law.
The conflicts within the institution peaked this Tuesday, when the HIDAA released two declarations for the media. One from the Inspector General, who demanded protection from the police, saying that these are political attacs; and one from the staff, who say that their chief has threatened them if they will not withdraw the report.
One of the sources declared for Top Channel that the Inspector General,Z ana Xhuka, has also filed a lawsuit, but it is not yet clear against who, but based on her speech, it might be against a verbal and physical violence case that she claims to have come against her from one of the inspectors.
