Nis Beqiri has been repatriated to Kosovo from Sweden, where he was
living illegally for several years, but his 12-year-old son is unable to
understand what the visa liberalization process is, due to his severe
illness that he cannot cure anymore in Kosovo.
Nisi continues his battle with death. His food “Nutrison 01” is not to be found in any Kosovo pharmacy, and the monthly cost of it goes to 700 EUR.
“This price is not affordable even for the Swedish. My son wants to go to school and he doesn’t understand the liberalization procedures. There’s no life for him in Kosovo. I am asking the State of Kosovo to return him to Sweden, because we have support there”, declared Besa Musa, mother of Nis Beqiri.
Human Rights officials in Vushtria, Kosovo, say that his return is a human rights violation. All institutions have been alarmed for his situation, especially the Ministries of Health and Interior.
Nisi’s mother says that the Swedish authorities had told them before returning them that the Kosovo government had promised to have all the necessary conditions for treating their case. However, doctors had not agreed with them.
The 12-year-old, his two sisters and their mother went to Sweden four years ago to treat his cerebral paralysis. His relatives say that he was damaged during birth in the clinic.
“My son cannot eat, cannot speak, cannot even stay sit”, his mother says.
