Albania is a country that can profit a lot from renewable energy from
the sun and the wind, and even by the integrated management of waste
materials, as a source of renewable energy.
The Minister of Environment, Fatmir Mediu, shared these projects with the USAID representatives who asked for more information on Albania’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Mediu mentioned the evaluation of its impact in the environment, based on the river basins.
Mediu mentioned the profits of Albania for being a country that doesn’t emit green-house gases, what obliges polluting countries to invest in clean projects.
Jonathan Hale, high representative of USAID for the Europe and Asia, and the Albanian minister of Environment, agreed to plan a detailed cooperation plan, and make it tangible with the USAID office in Albania.
