While many countries are suffering war, terrorism and immigration, Albanian religious leaders gave peace messages.
On the eve of the world peace event, representatives of the Sant Egidios community have presented the three day program and underlined the need of dialogue for peace, which is difficult but the only solution for humanity.
Alberto Quatrucci, General Secretary of the Sant Egidio Community, said that the immigration of Albanians in the 90s cannot be forgotten, and that immigration has brought development to Italy and Albania too. Now Europe is facing another form of immigration, and this meeting in Albania will show the commitment of the religious communities to answer to the immigration challenge, which may be a development challenge.
The Albanian Minister of Social Welfare, Blendi Klosi, declared that dialogue can make conflicts be forgotten. The Balkan region, also thanks to the contribution of the Albanian politics, is today a peaceful environment that thinks more about development than about war.
