Armando Pezaku is one of the two suspects who was arrested after police seized 613 kg of cocaine from the Durres port.
The 25-year-old was working as a driver of the truck that was carrying 180 million EUR of drugs.
Armando had been working for the company for the last six months, and his relatives say he was being paid 25,000 ALL per month, (less than 200 EUR).
His father says in tears that his son has nothing to do with this and that he is just a victim.
However, the lawyer defending his son is one of the most expensive in Albania, and that has attracted a lot of attention. Relatives explain that his lawyer was hired by the company since he couldn’t afford one.
Pezaku has never been convicted of any crime and some months ago he had travelled to Germany, demanding asylum, which was rejected.
