A poll made possible by the Swedish government about the relations
between the police and citizens, it showed that 98% of the police
officers think that they have good relations with the community they are
serving. 85% of the public says they have not been consulted regarding
the concerns of their community, and have not been informed about the
work of the police.

Elona Gjebrea, Deputy Minister of Interior, declared that “this is an added value in the reform. In this important contribution for the State Police, comes this evaluation which shows the perception and trend of the experiences of citizens for the state police through a real image of the situation.

Artan Didi, General Director at the State Police, declared: “Today’[s meeting is a unique case and a novelty for the relations between the police and the society in general. This is a meeting in which the police will not present itself through the perception that exists about them, but they will see how citizens perceive them”.

The poll has recommended a complete and thorough strategy for the police, supported by a concrete action plan.

The poll shows a low level of the support that the police receives from the community during the interventions. Police receives cooperation in only 5% of the cases.
