The Albanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) decided to postpone the 800 k/h electricity price hike threshold for the month of November.
During the debate, opposition MP Jorida Tabaku expressed disagreement with the taking and sharing of the responsibilities between ERE and the government.
She asked the decision be revoked and not postponed for a month, as it directly affects consumers.
Earlier the regulators predicted that starting from October 1, a family that uses more than 800kw/h electricity per month, one kilowatt above the threshold would be calculated at 42.85 Lek instead of 11 Lek/kilowatt which is currently.
While ERE had made the decision to change the energy price package on October 1, Prime Minister Edi Rama has now withdrawn, saying that during this time there was an increase in the quota in Fierza due to rainfall and that the citizens had started to save energy.
Energy bands above 800 kilowatt hours per month were reportedly expected to affect only 4-8% of household subscribers, while they would give 15.5 million euros more to the budget and energy companies to buy energy.
Meanwhile, a decrease in import prices was also noticed during October as on October 8-9, KESH corporation provided energy at a price of 255 euros, 50% lower than the week before.
