Regional cooperation against emergencies

Western Balkan will conduct in Albania a joint training for facing
emergencies. The Deputy Prime Minister, Niko Peleshi, declared that this
training will give neighbors the desire to help each other in case of
disasters.

“Each of our countries is very small against natural disasters, and the capacities are modest. Every individual instinctively feels solidary and with the need to help those in need”, Niko Peleshi declared.

Donald Lu, the US Ambassador, declared that Western Balkan countries must cooperate more.

“I think that there is skepticism in the region regarding the value of the Adriatic 5 Card. This training will prove that this cooperation is very valuable”, Lu declared.

The Albanian Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, declared that the civil protection chain in our country needs a deep reform. He adds that no emergency can be concluded without help from the citizens, who are not used to emergency facing scenarios.

“It is not enough to delegate the defensive capacity to the government and institutions only, if any citizen doesn’t create in his daily behavior the ability to prevent it. This goes for everyone”, Tahiri declared.
