The Italian police seized 2.3 tons of marijuana at the San Benedetto
port, where they arrested one 63-year-old Italian and a 24-year-old
Albanian.
The inflatable boat used for transportation has dropped the load and escaped from authorities in the waters between Croatia and Montenegro.
The narcotics was seized close to the coast, together with 625 liters of petrol. The arrested were inside a van, ready to transport the narcotics.
There are ongoing investigations between Italy, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania.
Police explains that Albania has cooperated very closely with the Italian authorities, and there are no elements to tie this traffic case with our country.
