In the last days of work, the leaving government is involved in a massive shares sale and transfer of public property.
Confidential sources for Top Channel said that the outgoing Minister of Economy Florion Mima, Thursday signed the privatization of several properties simultaneously starting with the dormitory of High School of Foreign Languages. This is a process that has started a debate long ago when a private business in the field of education asked the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry of Economy to rent this property.
At that time, the Government accepted the request immediately and began the procedures to make the dormitory private, but intense pressure from the opposition and public university itself forced it to suspend the process. As it seems, this has been temporary, since the Government finalized what started a year ago, during its last days of work.
The news comes from confidential sources, while officially the Ministry of Economy does not give any response. The same sources said that besides Dormitory of Foreign Languages, Ministry has signed the privatization of the beach cabins in Divjaka under the argument that the private who rented them ,has met the requirements. Recent weeks have seen a boom in property sales and public auctions, which included almost all ministries and ministers on the run. A few days ago, ‘Albpetrol’, the company that is under the Ministry of Economy, sold in an auction also the oil that hasn’t, but expects to receive in the future.
