The real estate market has been affected by the earthquake, and this can be seen in the usual sale announcements that now contain words such as “not damaged by the earthquake”.
Albania has a high level of seismic activity and its history is full of strong earthquakes that have taken several lives and destroyed many buildings.
The November 26th earthquake claimed 51 lives, while thousands of homes were destroyed, leaving its residents homeless.
This has forced home buyers to be extremely careful before investing in an apartment, to make sure that they will be safe from the next earthquake, whenever it may occur.
