Reactions against Miss Kosovo-Miss Serbia photo

Miss Kosovo and Miss Serbia troubled some Serbian media with a photo
made together. The photo was taken during the competition for Miss Universe, in
Rio, Brazil. Miss Serbia, Ana Sharanovic was obliged to explain why she
had taken a photo with Miss Kosovo, Aferdita Dreshaj.
For some people in Serbia, moral goes as far as seeing everything as recognizing the independence of Kosovo or not. Sharanovic emphasized that the photo was taken during a break between the recording session, and taking a photo with any woman has nothing to do with politics. She said that she supports the policy of her country, and that this is no recognition of Kosovo’s independence, but it is a culture in the personal level.
“If I would be speaking officially, I would normally say that Kosovo is Serbia and the Serbian Jerusalem”, Sharanovic declared.
After this, the media started analyzing her facial expression in the photo, which according to them was very restraint. Similar events have taken place even in the past. “Blic” newspaper was attacked by the government after showing an advertisement of the Republic of Kosovo on their webpage.
