The Red and Black Alliance expressed today the concern for the increased number of marriages between Albanians and Macedonians, saying that their children will lose the national identity.
According to the RBA, 112 interethnic marriage requests have been filed only for the first semester of 2012, especially in cities like Tirana, Shkodra, Lezha, Dibra, Kavaja, Puka, Mirdita, Korça, Kruja and Burrel, who get married in Macedonian cities such as Prile, Manastir, Radovish, Demor Hisar, Resnje, Ochrid, Makedonski Brod, Skopje, Tetovo and Gostivar.
RBA says that the negative effect is that the women from Albania are young while the husbands are over 40, and they fear that this has turned into a business for the families.
RBA says that this phenomenon is terrible, especially for the fact that the children will not learn Albanian. RBA appeals to stop the marriages with Slavic people, which risks to assimilate the Albanian nation not only in the Macedonian territory but even beyond.
