The Red and Black Alliance denounced the degradation of the cultural heritage in Albania during the 20 years of transition.
Spahiu declared that hundreds of museum houses and culture monuments have disappeared or are on the brink of destruction due to the complete negligence of the governments from both camps.
“Hundreds of museum houses in Gjirokaster and Berat are disappearing, and the same is happening to the castles of Durres, Tirana and Shkoder, so that the corruption apartment buildings can be built. From the principle ‘One building, one MP’ we are going to the principle ‘one MP, one castle’. Since we have no more spaces for apartment buildings today, everyone is going after the castles. These are able to destroy the our history and culture for their own interests”, Spahiu declared.
