RBA: Emigrants risk assimilation

The Red and Black Alliance expressed its concern for the assimilation
risk that face Albanian emigrants in the countries where they live
and work.
In a letter sent to the Albanian and Kosovo Foreign Ministries, the RBA asked a new budget for Albanian schools in the countries where Albanian emigrants live and work.
The Alliance reminds that 1 million Albanians are living in Greece, 2 million in Turkey and hundreds of thousands others in other European countries.
“The government should defend the Albanian citizens wherever they might be. Greece today is facing a very deep crisis, but nevertheless, they find the means to finance Greek schools in Albania”, the letter says.
The Alliance asked the government to invest more on the Albanian language, reminding that the children of the emigrants are slowly losing the language of their parents.
