Rapporteur for Serbia: “No EU without recognizing Kosovo”

The EU rapporteur at the European Parliament, also Chairman of Foreign
Policy, David McAllister, told German media that Serbia will not become
EU member without admitting the crimes committed in Kosovo.

The German CDU politician said for “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” that this, and a full normalization of relations with Kosovo, are the tasks that Belgrade must fulfill before accession.

“Until then, Serbia’s EU path is very far”, the German MP declared.

Balkan keeps attracting attention from international media. Suedwesstpresse wrote recently that the tensions would have escalated into armed conflicts, if it wasn’t for NATO and EU presence.

The same article was refers to the relations between Serbia and Kosovo, underlining that if Belgrade would have recognized Kosovo’s independence, 10 years after its declaration, that would be a very constructive action for the region.
