Rama’s ministers resign from Parliamentary seats

The Ministers of the Rama cabinet started the process for abandoning
their mandates. Seven of them, four from the Socialist Party and three
from the Socialist Movement for Integration, have filed the request to
abandon their mandates voluntarily.

Ilirjan Celibashi, Minister for Parliament; the Minister fo Tourism and Territory Regulation, Eglantina Gjermeni, the Minister of Integration, Klajda Gjoshaj, the Minister of Transport, Edmond Haxhinasto, the Minister of Justice, Nasip Naco, the Minister of Social Welfare, Erjon Veliaj and the Ministry for Technology, Milena Harito, have signed the document for their resignation as Parliament Members.

The resignations have arrived at the Central Election Commission, which will gather this Wednesday for the legal procedures. They will be replaced by whoever is in the list. According to the legal code, women have priority. The names that will replace the Ministers are Anduel Xhindi, who replaces Ilirjan Celibashi; Adelina Rista, who replaces Eglantina Gjermeni; Vladimir Kosta replaces Erjon Veliaj, Miranda Rira replaces Edmond Haxhinasto; Enkeleda Shkreli replaces Milena Harito; and Kejdi Mehmetaj, the 20-year-old Parliament Member, replaces Klajda Gjoshaj.

The process will continue with other Minisers, but in January. This is a political promise made for avoiding double functions and focusing on the executive roles, as Celibashi stated in the resignation declaration.
