Rama: “We want a coalition based on economic programs, not on party bargains”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, accused the smaller parties by
not sparing critics against his ally, the Socialist Movement for
Integration.

From Vlora, where he runs for a second term as MP, Rama said that the two bigegst parties in our country have been held hostage by political auctions.

“We cannot have a director from an important agency telling the Minister that he doesn’t recognize her orders, but those from his party leader. This is a hostage situation. If you don’t accept this in a coalition, he goes to the rival, taking even more. Both bigger parties have been held hostage by this auction. This has nothing to do with democracy, the state representation. Democracy is not an anarchy, not a bazaar”, the Prime Minister said.

For Rama, coalitions must be built only with parties who offer a program, not who demand their share of power.

In his meeting with pensioners and veterans, Rama asked them to trust the Socialist Party on June 25th, so that they can continue the reforms on their own.

“Our purpose is not to have more power to ourselves. We are asking you to give us more power, so that we can do more for you. We cannot do the things I am telling you if we don’t control the driving wheel. We have established the foundations of this state, but we need an administrative machinery that belongs to the state, not to parties”, Rama said.

For the Prime Minister, the Vetting Law and Judiciary Reform will increase the economy with 5% during the second term of Socialists.

“If economy doesn’t grow with 5%, we haven’t reached our objectives. This growth will bring higher salaries and pensions, a direct impact on the economy of families. We need justice and administration for this. Without this, everything else is temporary”, Rama said, appealing the public administration to stay away from influence of parties.
