Rama: We unblocked the road funds

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, inspected the Elbasan Road
construction and said that they will ask for more quality and a modern
approach.

Rama declared that they are unblocking the construction sites that were being withheld by the government’s debts. But for him, another bigger problem are the projects without standards, which Rama called “miserable”.

“We will do everything possible for putting this work on the necessary rails and respect the terms and quality conditions. On the other hand we can rehabilitate everything that is possible. Most of the projects cannot be repaired, because the project were realized without quality, as it was the tradition”, Rama declared.

For Rama, it is important building a new model of infrastructure.

“Everyone will be able to make the difference, and we will place a foundation stone on the projection, monitoring and implementation, and by the end, on how the money of the Albanian tax payer is spent, in order to fulfill our people’s ambitions for having an European road and not a country in the middle of Europe, with very ugly roads”, Rama declared.

The Minister of Transportation, Edmond Haxhinasto, underlined the importance of rebuilding the infrastructure with European standards.
