The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, started the presentation of his
Ministry for these 300 days with three cases filmed by patrol cars.

Tahiri valued the cooperation of citizens, considering it a return of trust and hope in the state police.

“In 300 days, the citizens have made 128,000 phone calls at the police, 18,000 more than one year ago. The police has resolved 56,000 conflicts, 28,000 more than one year ago. The seized marijuana is 435% higher. The arrest of public officials has increased, with even those who were untouchable”, Tahiri declared.

Minister Tahiri declared that the priority of the next 300 days will be the policing of the community, the continuity of the digitalization process at the police, raised salaries for the police officers, and the punishing of all corruptive affairs in the police.

Prime Minister Rama declared that in these 300 days we can say that we have a police that is doing its job. Rama mentioned the education of police officers, saying that this would eliminate the phenomenon with judges with poor education.

“This is not a matter of 3-month or 6-month courses. We don’t want to have a poorly educated police. We already have had poorly educated judges for 20 years. We need to build the university of security. The University of the State police based on the best standards and the best Albanian experiences”, Rama declared.

Despite the results, Rama declared that we are still far from what we want, and that the only comparison should be made with the new ambitions, not with the past results. Rama underlined fight against corruption among the police.

“A state that doesn’t fight corruption with facts and results within itself, cannot realize the ambition we have for the police. We will insist to the end. Every director must prove that he can fight corruption in his directory. Who doesn’t, cannot lead that directory anymore”, Rama added.
