Different from what the opposition leader declared, the leader of the
majority considered the June 21st elections as the best so far in the
country’s history, and a message of support to the majority for the
reforms.
Rama listed problems of the past elections, which, according to him, were not seen this time:
“For the first time, no school was closed to take students and teachers in a Prime Minister’s or Parliament Speaker’s meeting. For the first time there was no pressure to the public administration employees. For the first time, the army was not used to pave provisory roads a few days before the elections. No prisons were open for notorious criminals, as in 2013”, Rama declared.
Rama appealed commissioners to count every vote carefully and said that these elections were the last step of the rebirth of a new Albania, with 61 local units, the first ones with gender equality in local councils.
