The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, reacted right after the Spokesperson of the President said that the Venice Commission proved that President Meta did not violate the Constitution.
Rama published three conclusions of the Venice Commission, which, according to him, confirm that the stance of the Socialist Party after the June 30th elections is more than just.
-The electoral boycott of political subjects, even if they represent a large part of the voters, cannot stop holding regular elections. Otherwise, the parties would be enabled to block any electoral process.
-The canceling of the elections and the postponement has violated the citizens’ right to vote.
-The President acted without a legal base when he canceled the elections and decided to postpone them without having such competence granted by the law or the Constitution”.
These are the three conclusions that Rama has posted that, according to him, justify the government’s decision to remove him from power.
