On behalf of the government, Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his
gratitude and thanked the Albanian police elite, such as RENEA, for
catching the fugitives of the Drenova Prison.

Accompanied by the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, the Prime Minister visited the RENEA forces in Tirana, and declared that by turning back to prison a group of dangerous criminals, RENEA has shown their strength and that of the Albanian state to everyone who challenges the laws and threatens Albania.

“We will never betray you. We will never turn our back, and will never allow the betrayal that in the past has made a weak state, a weak police that loses against all types of criminals who didn’t have the advantage of strength, wit or any other ability. All they had was having political support, which you didn’t have”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister promised to improve the conditions of their families, of their training and above all, the financial ones.

“As a team, I am convinced that what you are doing and this extraordinary work that you did in the last days will create the necessary understanding within the entire society, which, in a time when the improvement of the financial conditions is good in general, the improvement of your financial conditions will be the first thing that we will do in the next year, when maybe others will have to wait a bit more, and with understanding, will admit that the State Police and the Special Forces are the first ones to deserve an increase of the financial benefits”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister concluded his speech by saying that today we must say no to the heroes and martyrs of the National Liberation War, and glory to those who gave their lives in police uniforms to defend the color of this team, which is the most important team of this state.
