The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, answered to a British delegate at
the NATO Assembly who asked him about his view on enlargement, now that
Britain is discussing Brexit.
“Maybe we are still naive to think that the EU is what we think that it is. Maybe you have lost the capacity to be naive. But I wouldn’t want to be at your country. I’d prefer to stay where I am, so that we can progress and become EU members”, Rama said.
The Prime Minister defended this stance until the end of the Assembly. This, despite the fact that Albanians have been mentioned several times after 18 of them were saved from a drowning boat in La Manche, with 18 people on board.
“With what I can help, please don’t leavet he EU”, Rama declared.
