Rama, support from Italy

“I am happy for this possibility to meet my friend, Edi Rama, and greet him for his new duty. We have known each other in the ups and downs of politics for several years, and we believe that we will build a new beginning, a new friendship between our countries, and a new start for Albania towards Europe. I trust that the help of Italy could be productive not only for us but also for the Albanians. A true start for us in a difficult road but with many hopes”, Bonino declared after meeting Rama.

The former Prime Minister and President of the “Italiani Europei” Foundation, Massimo D’Alema, considered Rama’s left victory as the big change that will approach Albania to Europe and that starts a new perspective for accelerating the cooperation with Italy.

In Rome Rama also met with the former Prime Minister, Silvio Berluskoni.

“I had the chance to welcome here the Prime Minister that I have been admiring for a long time, since I have had the pleasure to know him in the past. I am sure that he will bring a new spirit in Albania, together with the support of Italy, which has always seen Albania as a friend country, where we know that there are many citizens who know Italian and it would be nice for many of our businesses would have branches there. We have created the options of a direct cooperation. We will proceed this way so that we can amplify these relations of cooperation and friendship in a tangible way”, Berlusconi declared.

Giuliano Amato, another Italian personality valued Edi Rama’s image as Mayor of Tirana, and declared that he not only brought colors to that city, but there was more than that.

“His capacity is great. His innovative culture is finally to the service of the entire country. He is the representative of all Albanian reformative forces. This is the future. The future is Edi Rama”, Amato declared.

This is the comment of Edi Rama after these meetings: “The Italiani Europei Fundation is an unavoidable station for me. The Albanian Socialists always found open doors, and two great friends of Albania, Massimo D’Alema and Guliano Amato, discussed with us for the help that they can give us through their experience, by making available priceless human resources so that the relations between Albania and Italy can not only go one step further, but our government can also be the opening of a new Italian perspective in Albania, and bring a new Albanian reality”.
