The General Secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, met with the Albanian
Prime Minsiter in Tirana and discussed about the commitments of our
country in the fight against terrorism.
Rama declared in a joint press release that Albania has the right means and is ready to face the barbarian threat that comes from IS.
Rama underlined that the approval of the national strategy against extremism is a step that Albania has taken in its efforts against the evil.
The Chief of the Albanian government guaranteed Mr.Stoltenberg that Albania will keep being part of the NATO operations to establish peace. He noted that the government has stopped the trend of having lower defense budget, and now can raise it for 2016.
Stoltenberg praised Albania’s strong commitment in the Alliance and for its contribution in the peace missions.
He said that the increase of military spending is vital, although he is aware of Albania’s economic difficulties.
Rama and Stoltenberg valued the importance of the invitation for Montenegro.
