Rama: State Dept. report alarming, we need to react

SMI Secretary General Luan Rama demanded immediate response from state agencies after the annual State Department report classified Albania on drug producing countries list.

“The situation of narcotics in Albania is dramatic”, Rama said in e press conference. “SMI has appealed for the importance of the war against drug traffickers. And also requests law enforcing agencies to react more responsibly. State agencies have not shown the right reaction. The time is alarming and we need to show a concrete reaction”, Rama added.

He also confirmed cabinet changes were not requested from his party. “SMI did not make any request. Naming ministers is a constitutional right of the Prime Minister”, Rama said.
