Rama, stance about Kosovo and Isis

“Certainly, I have not forgotten that in these cases, my predecessor used to make a parade of the meetings he held in corridors. I will not do that, but I will specify the meeting with President Obama and the US State Secretary, John Kerry”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister mentioned the speech he held in the summit, holding a strong stance regarding a further recognition the Kosovo independence.

“I appealed all countries that haven’t recognized Kosovo yet to recognize it today, because this has a strategic and geo-political importance for Europe. On the other hand we have strongly supported Montenegro for the NATO accession and we have also worked with persistence for the accession of Macedonia, by asking them to end as soon as possible the issue of the name with Greece, and an implementation of the Ochrid agreement. I have also underlined that as Albania and as a region, we are based on the technical information capacities in a battle with barbarian forces like ISIS and the caliphate”, Rama declared.

Minorities benefit from the new territorial division

When asked by Top Channel about his meeting with the Greek Prime Minister, Rama declared that if the new territorial administration is one other matter between the two countries, this is an internal matter of Albania.

“The territorial division is an attribute of the Albanian lawmaking institutions. The Government and the Parliament have decided based on the national interest and for protecting without hesitation the minorities and their rights”, Rama underlined.

The Prime Minister mentioned the maritime border agreement, saying that it cannot turn back and that what is needed is dialogue and equality. He also underlined that he asked once again to remove the war law between the two countries.

“We have a very clear position about this. Dialogue, equality and good will for finding a solution as soon as possible for matters that cannot turn back. But we will go forward. This means that we should find a stable and acceptable solution for both countries, and for removing the absurd war law between our countries”, Rama declared.
