Rama: “Serbia and EU, double standards. Ready to unite in EU, but without backstabbing of Kosovo”

The Albanian and Kosovo government leaders, in the meeting held in Peja, considered the behavior of Europe and Serbia “challenging, blocking and double-faced.”

“Kosovo expects EU institutions to respect its rights. Kosovo cannot keep waiting for others. We are concluding the Kosovo Security Forces transformation process”, Haradinaj declared.

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, defended his Kosovo counterpart for the 100% fee raise for goods coming from Serbia and said this decision, which may seem irrational in normal conditions, is rational in the current conditions, with Serbia’s double-faced behaviour.

“The Kosovo Minister for Social Affairs and Labor told me that he had been asked by EU envoys, from Belgrade, to remove the word ‘Republic of Kosovo’ from his speech. What the fuck?”, Rama said.

Rama accused the EU of keeping a double-faced stance about the integration of Albanians since it is much different from the one held with Serbs.

Being in these conditions, Rama said that Prishtina and Tirana must stop dealing with words but start focusing on concrete acts. He confirmed that Albanians see themselves as a single nation with two stats who want to unite in Europe, but they won’t accept any backstabbing to Kosovo.
