The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that the Academy of Science failed to take the right decision.
“Since the Academy of Science chose a farce, I hope they also find funds for continuing the farce. Our funds will go to the university, for scientific research”, Rama declared on social networks.
Rama confirmed this way a warning made earlier the day, when he said that if the Science Academy will not get reformed, they will not receive a single dime from the budget and will have to hand over the building.
Founded in 1972, the Science Academy is the highest scientific institution in Albania, with 26 academic members. The academy has two Departments, the Social Science & Albanology and the Natural and Technical Sciences.
