The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, informed the Socialist MPs about his meeting with the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
Rama said that Macron gave him very encouraging messages for Albania, for its role in the region, praising the alignment of Albanian policy with the EU, the judiciary reform, the vetting process and the reforming of State Police, which has an excellent cooperation with the French authorities.
Rama quoted Macron saying that Albania and Macedonia deserve highest praises for this part of the process, but the decision of France has to be based on other factors as well, such as the reforming of the EU.
Rama accused the opposition of trying to put obstacles to Albania’s path in these final days before opening the accession negotiations.
“The opening of the accession negotiations makes the Albanian judiciary a great problem for them, because it will reveal the crimes and corruption, and the real ties between politics and criminals, from money laundering procedures with their party’s allowance and to the huge quantities of cocaine hidden in banana trucks, helped by the Prosecution”, Rama said.
