After the criticism of President Ilir Meta who accused that the Prime Minister has multiple responsibilities for the chaotic situation of Kakavija, Prime Minister Edi Rama accuses the President of political exploitation of the situation.
In a Twitter post, Rama wrote:
“Blaming the government for the situation in Kakavija is just another reason for the old habit of a President who abuses the high institution, for the low goals of his ‘Disintegrated Political Movement’! While as for the arguments for the blame, then pfff … typical parody in ‘Baba Xhike’ style”, referring to a mocking nickname Rama has made up for his critic in the presidency.
Earlier, president Meta stated:
“Any attempt to blame the Greek side is pointless. It is the full responsibility of the Albanian state, including the president and prime minister. The Prime Minister has multiple responsibilities. We know where the highest frequency of citizen traffic is. This was a big humanitarian issue, we have also the case of Kapshtica where many citizens were left for days waiting to enter the territory of their country. In all cases, the Presidency made every effort to prevent such issues. The government should have consulted with the president about changes in the diplomatic staff in Greece. They put the president before the accomplished fact. Nothing justifies the government’s behavior.”
