Rama: Prosecution must do its job

Rama declared in front of the police that he wouldn’t like to intervene in the work of independent institutions, but he added that this is time for these institutions to work.

“This is the time for the Prosecution to enter a new phase, a new determined relationship with the good faith that every institution will do its job, and because we are not here to interfere with the independent institutions, but they are not independent from the Constitution. The HCJ must do its job, because the people are being humiliated every day by judges, whose easiest thing in the world is to free criminals that you catch after a very hard work”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister accused the former police cupola of having ties with the crime. He said that the police has no room for corrupted people, and that this phenomenon should be fought.

“Not five or ten years ago, but just recently, the police was obliged to answer to criminals who were wanted from international agencies, and who took them out of bars as they were dogs, not police officers in the middle of Europe. You know where did these criminals find all this immunity. From the payments for their illegal freedom. The police has no more room for double ties”, Rama declared.

The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, declared that the new strategy of the police for the fight against drug traffic will include removing the property title to anyone that plants cannabis.

“We will take punitive measures that may include removing the property titles from those who plant cannabis. We are determined to punish criminal organizations that are not located in Lazarat, but that support the cultivation”, Tahiri declared.

DP: The police is being destroyed

The Democratic Party Parliament Member, Arben Ristani, accused Prime Minister Rama and the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, of creating an alarming situation for the public safety.

In a press release, after the meeting of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior with the police structures, Parliament Member Ristani declared that they are firing professionals and are hiring criminals that the Socialist Party had fired before 2005.

The Democratic Party added that there will be consequences for the public order and safety.

“This will bring an expensive bill for our country’s order and safety. Our police not only was not revived, but their wings were cut. The situation they created is full of dynamite, drugs and murders. Mr.Rama, you are responsible for destroying the police and for this situation of crime, and for the drug traffic that has filled Albania and is running to Europe”, he added.
