Rama: “Plan for improving tourism next year”

The government seems to have a tourism plan for the next term. Prime Minister Edi Rama listed what our country needs to improve.
“Next year we are going to have a better season, in many aspects. We will asks hotels and service units to clean the seaside and plant sewage water implants. No hotel will dump them at sea or continue with septic pits”, Rama asid.
Starting from 2018, cleaning of the seaside will go under government competences, since municipalities don’t have the capacities.
“They are right complaining about it. It’s not something a municipality can cover, since they collect cleaning taxes from people for normal administration of a specific territory. Population growth while in tourist season makes it impossible for the entire system to be administered”.
As for the drowned tourists, Rama said the cause is not the lack of lifeguards.
“Most of the deaths took place in unauthorized beaches. Someone goes too far and has a heart attack. There’s nothing you can do about that. It wasn’t due to the lack of lifeguards. We have a good plan to improve this issue next year”, Rama said.
