Before the Parliament voted for the budget 2015, the Albanian Prime
Minister, Edi Rama, answered to the opposition’s accusations for raised
taxes.

“Those who speak about raised taxes are doing only propaganda, with the principle ‘let’s lie, because something useful will remain’. Those who complain about raised taxes are those who do not even pay taxes”, Rama declared.

“We are raising only three taxes: the circulation tax, which doesn’t affect the family budgets; the tobacco tax, which will help citizens stop smoking, and tax on deposits, which encourages investments”, Rama added.

The Prime Minister listed the 15 taxes that are reduced and that will help farmers and businesses. He mentioned the IMF as a guarantee for the right path followed by the government.
