The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that Lulzim Basha is considering the May 18th agreement “dead” to justify the loss of the June 25th elections.
This Thursday on Top Story, Rama said that the agreement has never been about who takes what from elections because that’s something that only the people can decide on through vote.
“This is the most desperate way to justify a loss that had all the reasons to come, is to not accept it and to start throwing mud against the adversary and Albania. The problem is not with what the opposition says against me, but they are not sparing Albania in the process”, Rama said.
As for the accusations about his ties with crime, Rama said that the accusations were political and that the SP has been the first one that demanded their candidates to prove they had not been sentenced for crimes before the decriminalization law entered in effect.
“SP was the first one to demand a filter. The filter that we have today is new, not for the problems that we have today, but for the past problems with justice. No other country has it as we have it. We didn’t oppose it and we even asked for this filter to include the public administration employees as well, not only MPs”, Rama said.
As for cannabis, Rama said they never denied it as a problem, and the opposition has not revealed anything that the government had been hiding. “The opposition only commented the things that we revealed”, Rama said.
