The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, met with the residents of Dhermi
and Borsh, with whom he discussed the progress of the tourist season and
the regulation of the beach areas.

Rama visited the volunteers camp in Dhermi, an initiative of the National Seaside Agency. This is a cooperation between the Armed Forces, volunteers and civil society members for cleaner beaches. Thanks to this work, the Albanian coastline is cleaner than in the past years, according to the Albanian Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister declared that the government will start in September the international competition for the New Himara coastline and for the rehabilitation of its villages, with the final goal for an economic development of the new Himara that will come out after the new territorial division.

Rama: New territorial division will enable huge projects

The Prime Minister continued his visit at the tourist village of Borsh. Its entrance “Qazim Pali” road has just been rebuilt.

This segment that connects the Saranda-Vlore national road with the Borsh village was rehabilitated through a 100 million ALL investment, based on the project for improving the secondary and local roads, funded by the Albanian Government and the OPEC Fund for International Development. During the meeting with the Borsh residents, Rama mentioned the changes that the new territorial division will bring for the community.

“Next year we will be able to speak about more things and we will have more investments. This year only we have realized an investment that has not een done in many years in the energy sector, roads and the new urban development project, such as the Qeparoi Promenade, that will start by the end of this month”, Rama declared.

The government leaders announced some government plans for investing in this area. “We have prepared the project for the rehabilitation of the power supply in the entire area. Two new sub-stations will be built, and the funding for them has been guaranteed. We believe that we will resolve the big problem that you face with the low power supply”, Rama declared.

The Albanian Development Fund has identified 160 rehabilitation projects in infrastructure, which includes aqueducts and roads that directly affect the tourism development and the reconstruction of the cultural heritage.
