The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared from the Parliamentary
Group meeting of the Socialist Party, that the government is determined
to start an important battle for reforming the judiciary, which,
according to the Prime Minister, has turned into a corporate of
untouchables.
“We must start the new reform for which we have been preparing for all these months. The justice reform and punishing the untouchable. This is the European standard that we have missing more than anything else for years, so that the hand of justice will not stop in front of those who feel untouchable, may they be in politics or the judiciary “, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister expressed optimism for the EU candidate status in June, saying that this result will come thanks to the tangible achievements of the new government, and due to the increased trust from the international partners.
Rama announced a visit in Netherlands in the days to come, invited by his Dutch counterpart.
“We have strong reasons to believe that we have never been closer to this strategic objective that has been denied for three years in Albania. Certainly that the candidate status is not a product of a predictable process. We all know this. We already tried last December. But different from the last December, when the bad governing of the previous government was still influencing the judgement for Albania, besides other factors outside our country, the new governing, under the rigorous watch of the European Commission, has turned into the strongest argument in favor of Albania”, Rama declared.
The government leader mentioned the opposition’s accusations, which he called absurd and ill-willed in a time when the Albanians are looking for the status.
“There is an absurd malignancy between Albanians that doesn’t help in the June’s decision. There are lies, slander, fabrication, disinformation and heavy language that mostly discredits the Democratic Party, which is being withheld by a group of people who haven’t gotten over the loss of June 23rd yet. They have given to themselves the status of the defensive angle coming from the hell of drugs. Certainly, no one who sees with his own eyes can believe this, for as long that they don’t think with the mind of the DP”, Rama declared.
SP against the DP protest
The Socialist Party appealed the Albanian people to join the protest against drugs, which, according to the Socialist MP, Vasilika Hysi, has thickened the pockets of the previous government for the past eight years.
“This is the only chance to protest with those who are desperate from the fact that the police is doing its job and closing all of their traffic. Protest with those who thickened their pockets by smuggling cigarettes, oil and by trafficking drugs. Support those who caused Gerdec and killed innocent protesters on January 21st”, Hysi declared.
The Socialist MP added that the opposition is slandering now that the candidate status is closer than ever, and now that Europe is supporting us.
“The disoriented opposition sees crime as their ally in their fight against the rule of law”, Hysi declared.
