After the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party,
which had the presence of the US and EU ambassadors, Donald Lu and
Romana Vlahutin, said that the ambassadors are trying to make people
understand, but they are not listening.

“The Socialist Party is here, because we are open to realize the justice reform. We would have voted it by now, if it was up to us. They came here not because they want to govern our country or to lead the Socialist Party, but because they represent the USA and the EU, who are interested for this reform, because it is a historic reform, for the interest of Albania and of the EU”, Rama said for the media.

As for the conditions of the opposition, Rama said that the reform cannot be conditioned wth anything. “We are open to discussions, negotiations and finding ways that take to better and more decent elections. But why is this related to the justice reform? The justice reform helps the elections. The conditions are an expression of weakness or lack of will. The reform has a historic importance and has the support of socialists and democrats alike. Through this reform we may have a decent justice reform for 10 years, and we can open the accession negotiations through it starting from this year”.

However, Rama said that the reform will pass and this fantastic chance for Albania will not be burned.

As for removing the mandate of Koco Kokedhima, the Prime Minister said that he doesn’t comment the decisions of courts. He simply said that this decision is one reason more to make a righteous and real justice reform”.
