Rama: Negotiations needed for border

The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, dedicated the entire press release to
the maritime border agreement with Greece, for which he blamed the
government, which, according to him, has entered a stalemate with this
agreement.

“On the verge of November 28th, I want to repeat my appeal for the review of the border agreement with Greece. The current agreement and its map is a mined area for the relations between the two countries. The review of the map and the reestablishment of the borderline in order to end this suspended and potential conflict is an historical need. The Albanian government must take in consideration the responsibility for the stalemate that they have drawn on the map, and urgently sit with our neighbours to find a reasonable way. No one should profit on some other’s expenses”, Rama declared.

Rama spoke about the importance of the TAP pipeline for both countries.

“The TAP project must not be threatened by the conflict opened by the agreement signed by the Albanian government, and the perspective of a stable economic perspective of both our countries needs to see beyond the old roads of development. It is unacceptable that this agreement, which is necessary for the future of both countries, is made in a place where the political where bad politicians in both countries keep using nationalism and primitive differences”, Rama declared.

SP leader Edi Rama asked PM Berisha to correct the mistake made with the first agreement.

“This government and this Prime Minister are responsible that the 100th anniversary of independence is finding Albania territorially curtailed. It’s this government’s obligation to repair the damage made to our national interest”, Rama declared.
