Rama: “Negotiations are blocked by the DP.” Berisha: “Loser tries to cover failures”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, accused the opposition of
intentionally blocking the Vetting Law, and the integration of Albania
that depends from it.

“The vetting of judges and prosecutors is the key word today and you are creating obstacles. The EU member countries valued the stable progress of Albania”, Rama declared.

Rama said that the other five priorities are criteria, not conditions for the accession process, and they are valid for any country that aims for EU integration.

He added that the Council of Europe will value the opening of negotiations as soon as the Commission sees constant progress.

“This means that Albania’s obstacles does not depend from the European agenda, but from the DP agenda”, Rama said.

The former PM, Sali Berisha, reacted by accusing Rama of trying to cover his failure by blaming the opposition.

Berisha said that the condition from the EU is that the Vetting Law should be voted with consensus, but Rama, according to Berisha, has left the opposition out.
