Rama-Meta: Winning with 80 mandates

21/06/2013 00:00

On the last day of the electoral campaign, the leaders of the left
coalition, Edi Rama and Ilir Meta, gave a joint press conference where
they expressed their certainty for a victory with 77 or 80 mandates.

They said that there is no percentage power division, and appealed Sali Berisha to hold free and fair elections at least once in his political career.

Edi Rama: It’s not important only to win, but also to win with honesty, with dignity and full authority. Our allies and other opposition subjects that are not on our coalition, have all the right to be protected from us and we will respect this right, because we are the Alliance for European Albania and the Socialist Party, together with the strategic partner, the Socialist Movement for Integration, represent the opposition in commissions and ballot counting groups, and we have the burden to guarantee the vote of every Albanian elector. The result that we expect is 77 to 80 seats for Alliance for European Albania, and this is already here in Albania, but this Sunday it should be in the ballot boxes and with the process guaranteed by all the representatives of our parties, this result should come untouched, and that’s how the ballot box should come out.

Ilir Meta: One single vote is very important for the standard of these elections, and I hope that our current Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, will understand this and finally accept free and fair elections in Albania, without becoming an obstacle. He should stop all police structures that are currently under the constant pressure of the government leaders and the Democratic Party. I believe that the Alliance for European Albania will win 80 mandates.
