In a meeting with veterans for November 29th, the Prime Minister of
Albania, Edi Rama, accused the opposition of trying to block the future
of the country.
To contrast the words of the opposition, Rama quoted Chancellor Angela Merkel saying that Albania has changed through reforms, which should continue.
“I cannot pretend I am not looking what the opposition is doing against the international image of Albania, amplifying slanders to convince them that Albania and its government is a drug cartel and our country is a dark pit with people wanting to escape”.
Rama added that the opposition has built a wall around the EU accession negotiations by blocking the Vetting law. For this erason, Rama appeals the opposition MPs to pressure their leader and unblock the situation.
However, Rama is optimistic about the decision that will be taken this December. “Germany will be on our side”, he said.
Rama rejected opposition’s claims that next parliamentary elections are a condition for the talks. “The next elections are not a condition, but a criteria. Their game is just to confuse our public”, Rama said.
Present in this meeting, Ilir Meta focused more on the symbolic of November 28th and valuing veterans.
