The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, held a meeting with the Greek
Foreign Minister, Evangelos Venizelos, who is visiting Tirana in a
Balkan tour for the Greek Presidency of the European Council.
Rama expressed the government’s readiness to give new proportions to the cooperation between the two countries, in all areas, for the good friendship and strategic partnership.
The focus of this meeting was Albania’s European perspective, for which the Prime Minister expressed his full belief that the candidate status will be taken this June, during the Greek Presidency.
According to the Prime Minister’s press office, Venizelos valued the engagement of the Albanian government and guaranteed Prime Minister Rama that the candidate status during the Greek Presidency will be a key priority.
Venizelos offered Prime Minister Rama support for cooperation in technical level with experts from his country, in order to accelerate Albania’s EU approach.
