Although he has not taken his duty officially, Edi Rama has built an active meeting agenda in some European countries.

After the meetings in Italy with Prime Minister Letta, and Prime Minister Erdogan in Turkey, this Monday Rama was in Athens where he met with the Greek Prime Minister, Andonis Samaras.

The meeting was announced by Albania’s Prime Minister designate on Twitter and Facebook. “A one hour meeting with Prime Minister Samaras, discussing a new chapter in the relations between the two countries”, Rama wrote about the meeting with the Greek government leader.

One of the discussion topics was Albania’s European integration and the deep reforms that Rama is expected to undertake after his government takes the oath in September.

Confidential sources say for Top Channel that the maritime border agreement has also been discussed.

The Prime Minister designate, Edi Rama, declared that both governments should start discussing a solution based on Albania’s Constitution for repealing it, and for respecting the integrity of both countries.

Same sources confirmed that the issue of the Greek minority that lives in Albania, including the toponyms on passports, were discussed by both leaders.

During his stay in Athens Rama met with the leader of PASOK, who is also Foreign Minister of Greece, Evangelos Venizelos, and the former Prime Minister Kosta Simitis.
