Edi Rama started planning the cooperation bridges with some European
countries in order to earn their support, if the Albanians will vote him
as the next Prime Minister. During his visit in Vienna, Rama held a
meeting with the Minister of Social Matters and Consumers’ Protection,
Rudolf Hundsdorfer.
The conversation focused on the cooperation possibilities after the June 23rd elections, exchanging the best practices in the implementation of effective programs that incite the creation of new jobs.
Rama met with Andreas Shielder, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finances. After the meeting, Schieder stated: “I think that this is a good program which states that Albania needs a revival, a reinforcement in the positive sense of a social society. Most importantly, on my opinion, is the fact that we want to make politics for the people of Albania, in their favor. This politics should bring results for the citizens of Albania, in order to create jobs and have a fair distribution of it, and also a tax system that values the work of everyone, and that also distributes them fairly to all Albanian citizens”.
Rama also met with many diplomats in Vienna’s Diplomatic Academy, saying that one of the challenges of the new government is the education of young people through European standards, so that the new generation can have decent European citizens.
“As regards the differences between me and Berisha, they are many. Berisha had 13 years to show that he could do something for Albania and the Albasnians, while I had the opportunity to turn Tirana from an oriental bazaar to an European city, and this is what happened”, Rama declared.
When asked about the vision of the Socialist Party about the national issue and the relations between Kosovo and Albania after the June 23rd elections, the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, declared that the unification has already happened and that today we have borders with which both countries can do whatever they want.
