The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, held a meeting with Italian
investors to identify the problems that they meet for investing in
Albania.

Rama expressed his readiness to open the doors to them, announcing the creation of a special group for information exchange.

“We are ready to open our doors to the Italian investors who want to do business in Albania, but because of what they have heard, they don’t move from their country”, Rama declared.

“For this, we have established a group made of Parliament Members who are interested to participate in this initiative. They are interested to go to Italy and listen to the Italian businessmen, who certainly have several questions, and take notes from them”, the government leader underlined.

He emphasized that the people in this group come from the business and academic world. They will present propositions of a legislative level, and to create the conditions for protecting initiatives and projects that could be presented.

“I repeat that we are ready to discuss with the Italian businessmen who want to join us in this difficult and beautiful adventure. We are focused on small and middle enterprises”, Rama declared.

Noting that Albania is that last in the region as regards investments, he promised that they will eliminate the barriers to change this reality.

“We are the last for investments from Italy, although we are closer than anyone to Italy. Albania is the door from where you enter to Italy, and we want to open this door and make Albania the first country for Italian investments”, Rama added, by also announcing a visit in Italy with a group of businessmen.
