Prime Minister Edi Rama was present in the conference organized by the
Global Initiative Clinton that is being held in New York. During the
greeting speech, Clinton emphasized the initiative that aim to increase
the involvement of women in politics, that protect the human rights and
projects that aim to promote renewable energy and protecting
environment.
By the end of the first session, Prime Minister Rama had a short meeting with President Clinton and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci. In this meeting Rama thanked President Clinton for the support and help given to the Albanian people during his presidency.
Rama-Thaçi meeting
Earlier the day, Rama and Thaci held a meeting in New York that focused on the European Union integration agenda for Albania and Kosovo, including increasing the numbers of countries that recognize the new state.
During the meeting they also talked about common projects of mutual interest for both countries. The Prime Minister’s press office announces that the meeting agenda of Prime Minister Rama has continued with the President of Austria, Heinz Fischer, with whom he discussed about bilateral cooperation.
President Fischer guaranteed the Albanian Prime Minister for the support that Austria will give to Albania on December for the candidate status.
Rama guaranteed President Fischer for the positive climate of business in Albania, and invited the Austrian businessmen to invest in our country.
During his stay in New York, Rama held a meeting with Congressman Elliot Engel, who congratulated him for the deep victory of the June 23rd elections, and for the government program that received the Parliament’s vote of confidence.
